Enoteca Mundi® is a platform that brings together hundreds of educational and entertainment resources for wine enthusiasts. It was founded by Camila Bernardes, a certified sommelier (ABS-RS – Brazilian Association of Sommeliers) and holder of a Level 3 WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) certification.

As Camila deepened her knowledge about the world of wine, she struggled to find high-quality technical content. This challenge inspired her to create a platform that centralizes knowledge, entertainment, and community for wine lovers, a rapidly growing audience in Brazil. Per capita wine consumption in the country rose 50% in five years, from 1.8 liters in 2019 to 2.7 liters in 2024. While Camila had abundant ideas and expertise for content creation, she lacked a reliable development partner to build a robust, high-quality solution. That’s where App Masters came in.

Challenge

From the start, it was clear that the Enoteca Mundi team needed a “Netflix for the wine world”, a platform offering a rich selection of lessons, content, and tools to help hobbyists learn and share knowledge.

Solution

Enoteca Mundi® was designed with three core pillars: education, entertainment, and community. Content is delivered through videos, e-books, “enographics”, and quizzes, catering to different learning styles. To bring this vision to life, App Masters developed a mobile app, a website, and a Smart TV app using cutting-edge technologies with seamless integration.

The mobile app was built with React Native and Expo, making it available for both Android and iOS, with video streaming powered by Streamable.

The website, developed using React + Next.js, is hosted on Vercel. YouTube serves as both a video storage solution and a promotional channel.

The Smart TV app, built with React Native Web, is compatible with Android TV, Samsung (Tizen), and LG (WebOS).

Across all platforms, Firebase manages the database, file hosting, and authentication.

Results & Impact

After 18 months of development, Enoteca Mundi® launched with a comprehensive suite of features aligned with its pillars of education, entertainment, and community. It now offers hundreds of valuable content pieces, including videos, e-books, articles, recipes, and lessons. Here are the key features:

Lessons

For those eager to deepen their wine knowledge, this section includes video lessons, e-books, “enographics”, and quizzes to help users test their understanding.

Wine Tourism

A curated guide to wine-related destinations worldwide, including restaurants, wineries, hotels, shops, and importers. Users can explore these locations via an interactive map.

Events

A year-round calendar featuring both online and in-person wine-related events.

Tasting Sheet

Designed for engagement within Enoteca Mundi® and on social media, this feature provides a guided form for users to log their wine tastings. It captures key details like the wine’s name and label image, country of origin, tasting date, visual and olfactory characteristics, and other quality parameters. At the end, users can share their tasting notes with others on the platform or social media.

Wine Clubs

Users can create and join wine clubs, searchable by location and member name. These clubs can host public or private events within the platform and feature a collaborative photo gallery.

Profile

Each user has a personal profile where they can choose to make their wine tastings and club activities public or private.
